Lighthouse Guild has started construction on a Technology Center that will be the largest, premier assistive technology resource in the United States. Designed for people who are visually impaired and for all people who are using technology in order to help them, it will be a one-stop facility staffed by vision professionals where individuals can get eye examinations, receive assessments about potential useful technology, receive training and purchase devices. The Center will be a hub connecting innovators and users to advance technology developments for the community and beyond.

Among those on hand to mark the groundbreaking on Thursday, June 3, were Lighthouse Guild President and CEO Dr. Calvin W. Roberts, Board Chairman James M. Dubin, Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer, Lighthouse Guild Chief Operating Officer Paul Misiti, Chief Program and Services Officer Maura Sweeney, and Chief Development Officer Brian Dever.
