Cheryl A. Pemberton-Graves Named 

Chief Volunteer Officer at Lighthouse Guild

NEW YORK (October 27, 2020) – Cheryl A. Pemberton-Graves has been named Chief Volunteer Officer at Lighthouse Guild, the leading organization dedicated to providing exceptional services that inspire people who are visually impaired to attain their goals. Ms. Pemberton-Graves will be responsible for leading and implementing the strategy for building and retaining a diverse corps of volunteers that advance the mission of Lighthouse Guild. Ms. Pemberton-Graves joined the organization in 2007, and most recently served as director of volunteer resources. 

Ms. Pemberton-Graves has extensive experience in

volunteer management, community development,

philanthropy and government. This includes building

volunteer programs and client services for nonprofit

organizations, providing consulting services to

community development corporations throughout the

country, managing operational audits of multi-million-

dollar public/private/nonprofit organizations and

establishing nonprofit organizations in Brooklyn and

Manhattan. She has worked with the former Deputy

Speaker of the New York State Assembly, Arthur O. Eve;

State Senator Kevin Parker; former Bronx Borough

President Fernando Ferrer, and former City Comptrollers.

Ms. Pemberton-Graves serves on several nonprofit boards including The Cultural Arts Academy Charter School, The Priscilla E. Pemberton Society of The Bank Street College of Education, and The Five Pearls Foundation, where she is the Chairperson.

Her commitment to philanthropy has resulted in her being featured in two online chats, hosted by The Chronicle of Philanthropy and Bolder Giving, on “Inspiring African-American Donors to Give”. In 2019, her commitment to service was recognized by the Williamsbridge NAACP Child Development Center, the U.S. Congress, and the New York State legislature.
