GuildCare Adult Day Health Care Reopens in Manhattan and Names New Director

Lighthouse Guild Program Specializes in Services for People with Vision Loss
New York, (July 26, 2021) – GuildCare, the only Adult Day Health Care program in New York State specializing in services for people with vision loss, has reopened its Manhattan location. Licensed Medical Social Worker Patricia Rincon has been named Director of GuildCare Manhattan, with responsibility for day-to-day operations and overall management. GuildCare is a program of Lighthouse Guild.
GuildCare provides a broad range of services, including nursing care, medication management, diabetes care, physical, occupational and speech therapy, social work services, nutritional counseling, vision rehabilitation, therapeutic activities, morning snack and lunch. Services and activities are specially designed and adapted for individuals with all levels of disability – physical, cognitive and visual. Individuals do not have to be blind to qualify for GuildCare programs.
To ensure the health and safety of all, a negative COVID-19 test is required before clients return or enroll in GuildCare. Health assessment checks are performed upon arrival and stringent cleaning and health protocols are in place. Masks are mandatory for all staff and program attendees, and social distancing is being maintained during all activities.
In addition to GuildCare Manhattan, Lighthouse Guide operates GuildCare programs in Buffalo and Niagara Falls which recently reopened and a program in Albany which is scheduled to reopen soon. All had been put on hold last year by the New York State Department of Health (DOH) due to the pandemic.

Patricia Rincon joins GuildCare with extensive
experience in social services programming and
administration in New York. She was most recently
Program Director at Isabella Geriatric Center Adult
Day Health Care Program, where she served for
15 years. She previously held positions at Village
Care of New York, at Jewish Child Care Association
and at Grand Street Settlement. Ms. Rincon, who is
fluent in English and Spanish, received her
MSW from New York University and her BA in
Psychology from William Paterson College.
