Named Board Chair of VisionServe Alliance

New York (January 3, 2017) -- Mark G. Ackermann, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Lighthouse Guild and President of a number of its affiliate corporations, has been elected Chairman of VisionServe Alliance.  Mr. Ackermann was previously Vice Chair of the organization.

Decades of Service
Mark G. Ackermann is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Lighthouse Guild and President of a number of its affiliate corporations. Earlier, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Lighthouse International, which merged with Jewish Guild Healthcare in 2014 to form Lighthouse Guild.

Prior to joining Lighthouse International, Mr. Ackermann served for 25 years in various senior management positions at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center. He also held the position of Chief Administrative Officer of the hospital’s parent corporation, Saint Vincent’s Catholic Medical Centers of New York. 

Mr. Ackermann holds a BA from the Catholic University of America and a Master of Science Degree in Healthcare Management from New York University. He has served as an Adjunct Professor in the Graduate School of Management and Urban Professions of the New School University, as well as a Clinical Instructor in the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of New York University.

In addition to his new role as chair of the VisionServe Alliance, Mr. Ackerman is Chair of the Age Related Macular Degeneration Alliance International and a board member of The Usher III Initiative, He also serves as an Ambassador for the Path to Peace Foundation and the Same Sky Foundation.
